Jesus called my name  over 2000 years ago and I responded
February 1974


I have always said since February 1974 that my best friend, grandmother tricked me into salvation. Grandmother daily would call me ,and ask me to watch the 700 club on TV, and each day I would agree to but when she would call me back, I always had an excuse why I was unable to watch the program.
At that point in my life, I had just came out of a 9 year bad marriage and had been a bar tender in a night club, living on the wild side of life, and was into my second marriage that had a lot of darkness ahead that I was totally unaware of.
Finally one Tuesday morning I was in the process of fixing breakfast for my husband when she called again about the 700 Club, only there was something very different this day. The sound in her voice, the seriousness to her request and then she said something that made me really happy. Grandmother said, you must watch the 700 Club today. My response back to her was , why grandmother should I watch it today? She said, it is the last day it is going to be on TV and I do not want you to miss it. WOW! praise the Lord, I said OK, I will turn it on right now. I did not know that God was telling grandma, it was my last call. I did not know that there comes a point in each one of our life's, that we face that last call.
As I began to watch the program, and listen to the testimony, wow, God's timing is so perfect, for the person giving the testimony  I could surely relate too. It was a young man about my age named Nicky Cruz. As Nicky shared what had happened in his life, he really had my attention, for the things that Nicky spoke of I could  relate too.

Nicky talked about  the violence in his home, he shared how his parents were involved in witchcraft. Mine where not involved in witchcraft,  but I had been dabbling in card reading, palm reading, physic stuff etc.
Then he talked about moving  to New York City to live. There was a time after my parents divorced Mother almost allowed me to go to New York for a summer to stay with a cousin who was a nude model. In New York City Nicky joined the Mau Mau gang.  It had not been that many years in school that I too had been in a gang and we had no remorse for certain things. WOW!!!!!!!! I could also relate to the unhappiness, hurt and pain from rejection and not feeling loved. Someone I could really relate too.

As Nicky continued to share, I noticed a glow about him, and a realness in him. I seen something and  heard something in him I had never heard in Church. Nicky was truly happy, and at peace with himself, life ,and God.  All I could remember was a bunch of hypocrites  at church as a young girl, and I wanted no part of them.
Nicky was real. So when Nicky was allowed to give the altar call for those who did not know about the Jesus he spoke of, I was one of I am sure many that day who answered that call.
From that point on my life began to change. I watched the Holy Spirit which at that time, I did not know what it was or what was going on only it was Jesus change my life according to 2 Cor 5:17. I was truly a new creature in Christ. All old things had and were passing away. I was truly born again by the power of God.
I praise the Lord for that day and my dear Grandmother. after 30 some years of walking with Jesus I can still laugh and say Grandmother tricked me into salvation.

IT IS YOUR LAST CALL TODAY?
I pray if my testimony has touched you in any way, do not delay God plan for your life. He is standing right there waiting on you to just say YES, Lord, I do want to you come into my life as you did Patti's, I want you to take this little bit of nothing and turn it into something, Change me, make me a new creature in Christ and let all old things in me be passed away. Wash me with the blood that Jesus shed for me at Calvary over 2,000 years ago, for this day I answer to your voice calling my name.

Now if you said that prayer and meant it from your heart, know this day according to Romans 8:11 that the spirit of God that dwell in Christ now dwells in you. He will be there for you, lead you through every valley, go to the mountain tops with you and protect you in your time of need. Walking this walk is not roses and there will be times of struggles and obedience, but the rewards are beyond measure for you.
Hook up with a good church and get into group bible studies and prayer times. These are two things, that all Christians need, and without the word of God and prayer, you will not make it through.
